The new hand-wound caliber 2924 has a three-quarter bridge on the caseback side, reminiscent of that of the first ultra-thin automatic tourbillon from 1986. Presenting meticulous finishes and a sober aesthetic in line with the design of the Royal Oak case, the new caliber 2924, 4.46 mm thick – making it one of the thinnest on the market – has been designed and built in such a way as to reconcile the dual objective of finesse and robustness.
This movement is also distinguished by its steel tourbillon carriage, “to have the best balance between finesse and inertia” specifies the brand and by its large balance wheel which contributes to further increasing reliability. Comprising 216 components, caliber 2924 beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations/hour (3 Hz) for a power reserve of 70 hours.
Watch case and bracelet
Characteristic of the original Royal Oak from 1972, this Tourbillon Royal Oak Extra-thin features a perfectly integrated case and bracelet in rose gold. With a diameter of 41 mm and a thickness of 8.85 mm and water-resistant to 50 meters, the case, enhanced by the famous octagonal bezel typical of the collection, houses a deep blue dial enlivened by rose gold indexes and hands.

This dial is inspired by the “Petite Tapisserie” motif and the original color that characterized the first Royal Oak created forty years ago. In addition to the tourbillon at 6 o’clock, this new Royal Oak offers the hours, minutes and present functions, on the caseback side – so as not to disturb the sobriety and purity of the dial – a power reserve indicator divided into 5 segments visible through the sapphire crystal .
